David Lane is a well known regional artist who has been painting and exhibiting for over forty years. David’s journey to become an artist began in Sydney in the early seventies. His work however reflects both his love of impressionistic tradition and a contemporary and very personal interpretation of the Australian landscape with its brilliant light and colour.

In 1984 he won the prestigious Canberra Times National Art Award and subsequently won a number of purchase prizes including the Tamworth City Art Prize, The Saint Alban's Art Festival Award and the Coffs Harbour Advocate Art Prize.
